Project
The brief was to design a "Haven" for a family of four. Taking inspiration from the client’s love of exposed timber, we made the roof structure itself the focal point of the design.
The ground-floor extension is built with low-embodied-carbon stone bricks with exposed European Oak joists. While the south-facing façade is wrapped in breathable woodfibre insulation to boost thermal performance and prevent overheating.
Upstairs, the loft has been transformed with glulam beams, creating a light-filled space for two compact bedrooms and a bathroom — all with exposed timber that celebrates structure and craft.
